Games
Games are important for long car rides for anyone, but especially if you have kids. It’s best to keep them entertained as much as possible (and wear them out so they go to sleep)!
Carpool Chaos is a great option for laughter and great conversations. A childhood favorite of mine is Auto Bingo – a bingo game where you collect things you see outside your window! And lastly, Sorry in a travel case is the next best option for a classic board game in portable form. This is also great to have to bring back to hotel rooms, too!
Backseat Organizer
These are great organizers to get to save space especially if you have kids. There are tons of pockets, space for a tablet, food tray, and also protects your seats from getting kicked by those rambunctious little feet! This is perfect for small cars with not much space and even better if you hate having clutter all over your backseats.
Car Power Inverter
Anyone can find use in a car power inverter on a long road trip. This one I love in particular because it also has AC plugs meaning I can bring my laptop along and charge it in the car. Whats great about the AC ports is almost anything low power can be charged in the car: air mattress, game console, speaker, breast pump, etc. There are also four USB ports making it easy for anyone to charge their phone in the car.
Car Ceiling Cargo Net
If you’re planning on going for a long trip then this cargo net can certainly come in handy. Using up the ceiling space in the car is something not often thought of and is also a great place to store items you use frequently that you’d rather leave out of a suitcase: like a jacket, sweatshirt, shoes, towels, etc. This one also comes with a spot that holds a tissue box.
Car Safety Hammer
This is something I think everyone should keep in their car. It is a car safety hammer giving you the ability to break your window in event of emergency. Something great about this particular product is it is a 3-in-1 device. Not only do you have the ability to break windows but you can also cut your seatbelt with it. There is also a hammer side on one end which can be useful in many situations, not just an emergency. All around a great tool to keep in your car.
First Aid Kit
This one sort of goes hand in hand with the last item as its something that should be kept in your car at all times – a first aid kit. Its a small price to pay that could save your life. Including bandaids, cleaning wipes, antibacterial ointment, and more. I love the small size of this kit making it easy to travel with and keep in the car while also holding a lot of product – 80 items to be exact. You never know when you might need something like this even for something small like a scrape on the knee. It’s better to have it than without it!
Car Seat Headrest Hook
Car Seat Headrest Hooks are something I never thought I needed until I got them. Not only do they come in handy on long trips but they’re awesome to use on your daily commute. I use mine to hang my water bottle and my purse so they’re not rolling around in the car. It also makes them easy to find when the car is packed full of stuff. They also work great to hold grocery and shopping bags. These particular hooks hold up to 55 pounds.

Disposable Urinal Bag
Ok, hear me out. Not everyone is comfortable pulling off the side of the road and squatting behind a tree, especially in heavily populated areas. These disposable bags really come in handy in those emergency situations where you just can’t wait or on those secluded drives where the next gas station isn’t for another 50 miles. Its also great for children or those with health issues that can’t just simply run off into the woods and pop a squat. They’re useful!
Bungee Cords
Bungee Cords are another one of those things that I think you should also keep in your car because you never know when you might need them! These are so useful on long trips if you’re securing things to the roof where you need extra security. I also like to keep them in the car for times when I find a free item or furniture on the side of the road and just can’t go home without it.. yes I am that type of person.
Motion Sickness Patches
I think we all have one person in our group who is notorious for getting motion sickness (if its not us ourselves). These patches really come in handy as they’re for both adults and kids and come in patch form rather than a pill. They are also great for boat rides and airplanes, too. Nothing worse than feeling sick on your way to an epic vacation!

Tide Stain Remover
One of those keep-in-your-purse-at-all-times items, its also great to keep one in your car, too! I think I can speak for all of us when we’ve tried to eat a nice greasy burger in the car on the way to somewhere only to hit a bump and now some ketchup is all over your new white shirt. It happens! Something small like this Tide Stick is great to keep on hand to beat those pesky stains before they set in on your clothes.
Tire Inflator Portable Air Compressor
This is such an awesome little gadget I didn’t even know existed in such small form. It is so useful to have in your car in event of emergency or low tire inflation warning. Instead of having to find the nearest gas station you can simply pull this out and fill up your tires for free. There is even an auto shut off feature that detects when your tires are full and no longer need air. Another feature to this device is an added flashlight making it easy to use even in the dark at night.

Pill Organizer with Medicine Labels
A pill organizer is one of those things you wish you would’ve gotten sooner. It is so much more organized and easier to travel with as opposed to bringing a bunch of bottles with you. Not to mention it saves a lot of space! I know for me there are some medications I would never travel with due to pure laziness and just hoping I wasn’t going to need them because I didn’t want all the bottles to take up space in my luggage. This solves that problem completely and even comes with labels so you can organize the sections completely how you want to.
Heated Car Blanket
In the winter this blanket is a life saver! Knowing you have a heated blanket in your car makes going out in the winter cold just a little more bearable. Not to mention it is also great for joint aches and pains or those who get stiff in the car after a long period of time. The heat from the blanket helps alleviate that pain a little bit. In addition to all of this having any sort of blanket in your car is a must have. It can save your life in event of an emergency or car accident as it can help when your body goes into shock. Absolutely a necessity in my opinion!
Foldable Car Trash Can
A nice thing about this trash can is it folds up making it easy to store for when you’re not using it or needing it. It has a 3 gallon capacity making it great for long road trips where trash is just inevitable. Its slim design helps conserve space as well. This trash can can attach basically anywhere for your convenience but I personally like keeping it on the backseat attached to my center console. The straps are great for holding it in place so it doesn’t spill over on the drive. It is also waterproof!
Twist Memory Foam Travel Pillow
When I tell you this is the only travel pillow you will need, I mean it! This thing twists in any direction making it great for use not only for your neck but also the chin, legs, back, stomach, you name it! The flexibility is great for any kind of sleeper. It also has a removable cover making it easy to wash as well as an attachment loop at the end for hooking to your luggage.
Conclusion
We hope you’ve found some useful products on this post to use on your next road trip. These Amazon products will make your life SO much easier in the car so you can focus on having fun and making new memories with your family!
