Montpelier Farms

Montpelier Farms is located in Upper Marlboro with tons of activities during the fall season. The fall festival begins in September on the weekends, extending to every day except Monday in October with longer hours. Head on to their website here for full dates and times.

This fall festival is a great option for families with kids. There are lots of fun activities like awesome playgrounds, pig races, Barnyard Basketball, Trike Tracks, giant slides, and much more. In addition to U-Pick pumpkins, there are also delicious homemade treats and cider, along with other fresh farm goods. There is also a corn maze, hayride, gemstone hunting and farm animals to see.

Sharp’s Farm

Dates: Weekends from September 30 – November 5

Location: Brookeville

Sharp’s Farm is a simple, authentic and laid-back farm that is dog friendly. They offer free hayrides to pick your own pumpkin patches, or you can browse their pre picked section. There is even a kids section for smaller sized pumpkins! In their country store you can purchase all kinds of homemade goods and crafts like apple butter, honey, preserves, and more.

If you’re a sucker for fall decorations they have plenty to offer including mums and gourds. As you’re grazing the fields feeding the farm animals be sure to grab some grub for yourself or a beer at one of the onsite food trucks. Throughout the fall season they host different special events like Gentle Giants, a draft horse rescue organization, Dog Days, and more. Larriland Farms

Larriland has lots of fun fall activities to enjoy for autumn family fun. In addition to pick your own pumpkins, they also offer a straw maze. boo barn, evening hayrides, a Halloween hayride through the woods as well as your classic hayride to the pumpkin patches. Keep in mind some of the hayrides require advanced reservations so check out this website to reserve before visiting. 

There are also plenty of homemade goods to take home with you, like delicious apple fritters, pies, cider, and ice cream. In addition to pumpkins, you can also buy other in-season fruits and vegetables like broccoli, raspberries, beets, tomatoes, flowers, and apples. This farm is sure to scratch the itch of fall festivities this autumn season.

Magnolia Meadow Farms

Home of Maryland’s largest corn maze, Magnolia Meadow Farms has partnered this year with Team Hope Frederick and dedicated their maze to Breast Cancer Awareness. Below you can see the beautifully intricated design of their corn maze this fall; truly a sight to see!

In addition to this awesome maze, Magnolia Meadow also has hayrides, jumping pillows, ziplines, slides, farm animals, and more. There is also an event twice in October named Moonlit Maze Nights where you can explore their corn maze under the stars for a truly spooky experience. In addition to these activities, you can also pick your own pumpkins, seasonal flowers, sunflowers, and gourds. Their farm market sells delectable treats like apple cider donuts, honey, fresh sweet bread, cinnamon rolls, cookies, candy, soap, souveniers, and more. The onsite kitchen sells plenty of food to keep you satiated as well; including appetizers, hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, snacks, and ice cream.
